Paramount Ranch To Host Drive-In Movie Night
Help restore nature with a movie about restoring nature, in one of the world's most iconic filming spots.
AGOURA HILLS, CA — A film about persevering over nature in a tough but beautiful location seems like the perfect movie to show at Paramount Ranch. The National Park in Agoura Hills that once served as a backdrop for Golden Age Westerns was badly damaged in the Woolsey Fire, and is currently undergoing a $12-million restoration.
On April 24, this hardy, beloved site will host a screening for another nearby hardy, beloved site. To help pay for the National Park Service’s expensive restoration, it is hosting a screening of 2019's “The Biggest Little Farm,” a documentary chronicling the eight-year journey of John and Molly Chester of Moorpark, who left city life to try to bring 200 acres of barren farmland to life.
“Through dogged perseverance and embracing the opportunity provided by nature's conflicts, the [Chesters] unlock and uncover a biodiverse design for living that exists far beyond their farm, its seasons, and our wildest imagination,” says a description of the film, which was directed by John Chester. Chester’s film was honored as the official selection of the Sundance, Telluride, and Toronto film festivals, and winner of the Boulder and Hamptons film festivals.
