Ready to Be Discovered? Universal Studios is Casting for Tour Guides Today

Tour guides get free acting lessons, private events with industry executives, access to auditions, casting directors and free screenings.

Are you ready for your close up? If so, Universal Studios Hollywood wants to see you today.

An open casting call will be held today in search of tour guides to narrate and lead the famed backlot studio tram tour, which will be getting a face-lift this summer in conjunction with the park’s 50th anniversary.

The auditions will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Universal City theme park.

Tour guide wannabes should bring a resume and headshot, and they must be available for follow-up auditions on Wednesday and final interviews next week.

According to the park, candidates must be “friendly, engaging and enthusiastic,” with a performance or public speaking background, strong knowledge of film and television and a “charismatic live television camera presence.”

Tour guides also must be at least 18 years old.

Park officials said the job is an ideal role for aspiring actors/actresses or anyone looking to work in the entertainment industry. Tour guides can take advantage of free acting lessons, private events with industry executives, free screenings of Universal films and access to auditions with casting directors.

The theme park will be introducing a “Nighttime Studio Tour” this summer, highlighting movie set lighting and special effects used in nighttime film production. The evening tours will run on weekend nights from July 4 through Labor Day.
