Somehow No DUI Was Involved in Wrongway Driver Crash that Shut Down 405 Freeway

Several people were injured and several lanes of the 405 Freeway were closed Friday morning when a driver went the wrong way.

A wrong-way driver crashed into another vehicle on the southbound San Diego (405) Freeway in El Segundo, causing minor injuries and temporarily closing several freeway lanes, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The collision took place at El Segundo Boulevard about 4 a.m., CHP Officer Alex Rubio said.

The crash temporarily shut down the carpool lane and the number 1, 2, and 3 lanes, he said, prompting the CHP to declare a SigAlert.
