'Three-peat' for F.C. Elite

Agoura's AYSO BU-12 "Extra" soccer team, F.C. Elite, wins its third tournament title in a row.

Agoura's AYSO BU-12 "Extra" soccer team won its third tournament championship in a row rolling over Culver City 7–0, Encino-Balboa 8–1, Canyon Country 4–0 & then pulled out a last minute win in the championship game against Lakewood 2–1 in the Santa Clarita Gold Rush Tournament on Sunday April 17. 

AYSO Region 4 (Agoura, Calabasas, Oak Park, Westlake Village) Extra is a soccer program that is geared to those players U10 (under 10 years)  and U15 (under 15 years) who want a higher level of competition and training, but continue to prefer the more equitable play over that of Club soccer.  The AYSO Pacific Extra Soccer League is an inter-regional gaming circuit for participating AYSO Extra program teams, now entering its 2nd year after fabulous inaugural year success.

SOFTBALL

  • The Chargers Varsity softball team finished the Michelle Carew Classic over the weekend. On Friday night, in a non-league game, Agoura battled the Poly Bears and suffered a tough loss 7–1. Agoura Charger Lianna Moss went 1–3 with a triple. Also a strong performance by Kelcie Brodsky, who went 1–3 with an RBI. 
  • Saturday morning the Agoura Chargers challenged the Murrieta Valley Nighthawks in a non-league game. In a close game, Agoura was able to hold off Murrieta Valley 4–3. Stephanie Lord and Kelcie Brodsky combined for three hits and three RBI's and Ashley Kellenberger pitched a complete game. Saturday afternoon, in a non-league game, Agoura struggled against a tough St. Lucy's team. The Agoura Chargers lost to the St. Lucy Regents 8–0.  Stephanie Lord went 1–2 with a double and McKenna Sikich went 1–3 with a single. Agoura plays their next league game against the Newbury Park Panthers on Tuesday April 26.

BASEBALL

  • Saturday in non-league play, the Agoura Chargers varsity team hosted the Dos Pueblos Chargers. Agoura wasted no time scoring, posting all of their runs in the first three innings of the game. Preston Rosemont went 2–4 with an RBI and Tyler Cohen went 2–3 with an RBI. Agoura is 3–7 in Marmonte League and 6–10 overall. The Chargers next game is Wednesday when they host the Trabuco Hills Mustangs in a non-league game at 10:00 a.m.

BOYS LACROSSE

  • The varsity lacrosse team traveled to Oak Park on Friday to avenge their only league loss. Agoura battled hard, but couldn't overcome the tough play of the Oak Park Eagles in a 19–11 loss.  The Agoura Chargers will look to rebound from their loss when they travel to Chaminade College Preparatory to challenge the Eagles.
