Track Teams Sprint Ahead

Here's a recap Agoura High School sports this week plus a look ahead.

Girl's Softball:

•  The ladies plays Saturday at 11 a.m. at Central Park in Valenica.

Golf:

• The boys lost in a close match against Simi Valley last week with a final score of 425-407. They lost a matchup against Thousand Oaks on Monday 463-4 and to Newbury Park Wednesday 429-387, bringing their total record to 0-4. Their next match is Monday is an Oak Park tournament starting at 1pm at North Ranch course.

Girl's Lacrosse:

•  Their next matchup is Tuesday at Newbury Park High School.

Boy's Lacrosse:

•  They will take on Calabasas 0n Friday at 3 p.m. and then travel to Harvard-Westlake Saturday to take on the Wolverines.

Baseball:

• The entire baseball program is in the Easton Tournment through Saturday. Agoura played Rio Mesa Thursday and lost 8-2 in eight innings. Some highlights? Neither team scored a run until the 5th inning when Rio Mesa got three consecutive bunt hits to load the bases. The Chargers scored one run in the 5th on a single up the middle from first baseman Sam Gerald. Agoura had the bases loaded with no outs in the 7th but only got one run on an RBI walk from Rhet Montana. Saturday is the final day in the Easton tournament.

Track & Field:

• The entire track program beat El Camino Royal High School at the home meet Thursday. The scores were as follows: Varsity Girls 75-45, Varsity Boys 85-50, Junior Varsity Girls 96.6-33.4, and Junior Varsity Boys 113-22.  Jonathan Cabral ran a nationally ranked time of 13.64 in the 110-meter Varsity hurdles.

Swimming:

• The entire program has a meet today against Newbury Park starting at 3 p.m.  

Tennis:

• The boys record is 1-1.  They will take on Saugus Friday at 3 p.m. The match is away.

Boy's Volleyball:

• The Chargers played Oak Park on Tuesday and lost in three sets. The set scores were 25-21, 25-22, and 25-14. Their overall record is 0-3 for the beginning of season. The Junior Varsity team plays in the Royal Classic starting Saturday.
