1 Hospitalized After Oakland Structure Fire

Firefighters contained the fire to the building where it started.

OAKLAND, CA — One person was hospitalized with injuries from smoke inhalation after a fire broke out at commercial property in Oakland on Saturday.

The fire was reported at about 9:40 a.m. in the 1000 block of East 12th Street, according to the Oakland Fire Department.

Firefighters were able to control the flames within about 20 minutes and contained the fire to the building where it started.

There was no word on the cause as of Saturday afternoon.
