77-Year-Old Pedestrian in Crosswalk Hit By Car
The victim has died of his injuries, according to police.

ALAMEDA, CA - A pedestrian who was struck by a car near Alameda's waterfront on Sunday died from his injuries a day later, a police lieutenant said today.
The collision occurred at about 11:35 a.m. Sunday in the 2200 block of Shoreline Drive.
The pedestrian, later identified as 77-year-old Philip Byung Chan Lee, was crossing the street from the beachfront toward Alameda South Shore Center and was apparently in the crosswalk when he was struck, police Lt. Tony Munoz said.

He was taken to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries Monday, Munoz said.
The 59-year-old Alameda man who was driving the vehicle stopped at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

Impaired driving is not suspected as a factor in the collision, according to Munoz.
The department's major accident investigation team is continuing to investigate the case.
