8 Quarantined Alameda Firefighters Cleared For Duty
Six of the firefighters will be back on duty this week.
ALAMEDA, CA — The City of Alameda has very good news about the eight firefighters who were quarantined after possible exposure to the new coronavirus, or COVID-19. All eight of them have been cleared for duty.
Six of the eight will return to their jobs this week, while the remaining two should be back in the fire station within a week.
The quarantine was ordered when one Alameda firefighter tested positive for COVID-19 on March 10. That firefighter is still recovering, and remains quarantined at home outside of Alameda County.
