When did your restaurant open? We just opened on Saturday, Feb. 12.
Is this your first restaurant? My sister owns Phnom Penh and Phnom Penh House in Oakland. I worked in the family business for 19 years. With , I’m in charge.

What type of food do you serve at Angkor Grill? Cambodian. We also cater.
What are some distinctive flavors or ingredients to Cambodian cuisine? Lemongrass, coconut milk, chili peppers, anchovies.

What are your favorite dishes? Our signature dish is the barbequed lemongrass chicken. I like the Seafood Lover Special with basil garlic sauce. I also like the eggplant with shrimp and ground pork.
What role did the City of Alameda play in getting your business started? They were very helpful. They fixed the façade and made it look much better. Alameda is a nice city. I’ve lived here with my family for eight years and have always dreamed of having a business here.
