Announcement information, photo submitted by Bladium Sports & Fitness Club:

Competing against 50 teams, Alameda took 3rd place--their first time on the podium at an event of this size! The Caffeine & Kilos Invitational was held September 20th in Sacramento. Featured on the team are both the Alameda CrossFit Director Ben Foster and Head Coach Mary Lathrop. These people practice what they preach!

Competitions like this are an opportunity for local CrossFit affiliates to get together and test their fitness. Those who succeed often win cash, prizes, and recognition that their training methodology is working. Keeping the momentum alive, Alameda CrossFit will be competing again at the FrankenWOD Competition on November 1st in San Jose. The team would like to give a special thanks to Bladium for all their support and encouragement over the years.

Alameda CrossFit, powered by Bladium, is a revolutionary fitness training program for everyone! The program consists of constantly varied functional movements (pushing, pulling, throwing, lifting, jumping, squatting) performed at high intensity. CrossFit is both a general physical preparedness program and a sport. Using CrossFit as a way of improving your fitness and participating in the sport of CrossFit have different requirements. Because of this we offer two programs: Fitness and Sport. If your objective is to simply be healthier and more fit, our Fitness program is designed for you. If you have aspirations of competing in the sport of CrossFit, our Sport program will prepare you for that. It’s not necessary to commit to one or the other, but it is important you understand the role of each.

Pictured with their trophy and some well earned celebratory beers are Head Coach Mary Lathrop, Craig King, Dawn Mangat and CrossFit Director Ben Foster.
