ALAMEDA, CA --A two-alarm fire that burned an Alameda home and injured a firefighter early Friday morning caused about $600,000 in damage, according to an Alameda fire captain.
The fire was first reported around 12:25 a.m. at a two-story home in the 1500 block of Fountain Street, fire officials said. Firefighters initially had trouble getting into the home because flames were so strong and also because the resident had many possessions, according to fire officials.
A female firefighter was injured as a result of the fire and was taken to Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in San Leandro. She was released Sunday and is now resting at home, Capt. James Colburn said.
