Alameda Gets a New Habit

The Habit Restaurants, Inc. , an Irvine-based restaurant company, has opened a Habit Burger Grill at 2640 5th St. in Alameda. The newest location brings the number of Habit restaurants in Northern California to 30.

The restaurant, which opened today, hosted three fundraisers to benefit the local community on Monday and Tuesday which collectively raised $5,339. One hundred percent of the proceeds will be donated to Alameda Point Collaborative ($1,583), Alameda Meals on Wheels ($2,004), and Midway Shelter of Alameda ($1,752).

The Habit Burger Grill in Alameda is a 3,075 square-foot new building that seats a total of 90, including indoor and patio seating. Approximately 35 new jobs have been created to staff the restaurant. The company distinguishes itself in the fast casual better burger segment with its signature Charburger, menu variety and value.

The Habit was founded in 1969 in Santa Barbara and has over 100 restaurants in California, Arizona, Utah and New Jersey.
