ALAMEDA, CA —A fire damaged a commercial clothes dryer in a Laundromat in Alameda on Monday morning, fire officials said Tuesday.

Firefighters responded at 10:12 a.m. to a report of smoke coming from a self-service coin-operated Laundromat in a strip mall in the 1500 block of Lincoln Avenue, according to the Alameda Fire Department.

Crews found the dryer on fire inside the building and quickly extinguished it. Everyone evacuated safely from the building and the damage was confined to the dryer, fire officials said.
