Alameda Man Charged With Murder After Orinda Man's Overdose Death
Ulzii Orshikh Batsukh, 26, of Alameda, is accused of selling fentanyl to the victim.
ALAMEDA, CA — A man who allegedly sold the fentanyl that killed a 20-year-old Orinda resident has been charged with murder, the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office said Thursday.
The victim died in September 2024 by what a medical examiner determined was acute fentanyl and para-fluoro fentanyl intoxication, the Sheriff's Office said.
Detectives with the Sheriff's Office allege the drugs were purchased from Ulzii Orshikh Batsukh, 26, of Alameda.

A warrant was issued for his arrest and he was booked into jail on Thursday on suspicion of murder, selling narcotics, and possession of narcotics with intent to sell. Formal charges against him were filed Thursday afternoon.
Batsukh is being held at the Martinez Detention Facility on $1 million bail.
