Alameda Police Stop ATM Theft, Make Arrest

ALAMEDA, CA — Alameda Police stopped four people from stealing an ATM Sunday, made one arrest, and confiscated suspected methamphetamine and cash.

Around 7 a.m., police received several calls about a gang of thieves trying to steal an ATM using multiple vehicles.

The credit union ATM was on Mosley Avenue, frequently by Coast Guard personnel.

Police arrested one man, who they say had "a large quantity of suspected methamphetamine and cash."

Police say that surveillance video confirmed the involvement of the man taken into custody.

No surveillance photos of the remaining suspects have been released at this time.
