Alameda's Twist Salon Gets 'Two Curls Up' in WSJ Article

Curly-haired writers checked out specialty salons in four cities and reported on the results in the Wall Street Journal.

Curlytops, rejoice — Alameda's Twist Salon got a top review in a recent Wall Street Journal article that looked at stylists who specialize in curly and wavy hair.

Three intrepid, and occasionally frizzy, writers visited specialty salons in New York City, Dallas, Walnut Creek and Alameda to report on their hair-raising experiences.

Twist Salon owner Tami Quan gave the WSJ writer a "Deva" haircut, cutting the hair dry before washing and conditioning it. Here's what the WSJ said about the outcome:

"We really liked the results. Two months later, after following her instructions, the dreaded pyramid (flat on top, puffy on the sides) has yet to return."
