Alameda School Makes U.S. News Rankings 2016 Best High Schools

Alameda High School made the list for Top Schools in California.

ALAMEDA, CA - Alameda High is ranked the 102nd best high school in California by the prestigious US News and World Reports 2016 rankings.

The school was singled out because "Students have the opportunity to take Advanced Placement coursework and exams. The AP participation rate at Alameda High is 65 percent. The student body makeup is 51 percent male and 49 percent female, and the total minority enrollment is 70 percent. Alameda High is 1 of 7 high schools in the Alameda Unified.”

The other high schools in Alameda were not ranked.

"The U.S. News rankings include data on more than 21,000 public high schools in 50 states and the District of Columbia," states U.S. News & World Report. "Schools were awarded gold, silver or bronze medals based on their performance on state assessments, their graduation rates and how well they prepare students for college."

The report includes information about curriculum, test scores and student demographics.
