
On Sunday, December 31, at approximately 11:35 a.m., Alameda Police Officers responded to a report of an injury collision involving one vehicle at the 1300 block of Marina Village Parkway.
Upon arriving, officers located an adult with major injuries, who succumbed to their injuries at the scene. We are saddened by this loss and send our condolences to the person’s family and loved ones.

The preliminary investigation suggests the driver lost control of their vehicle and struck a tree.
The investigation is in its early stages, and the cause of the collision has yet to be determined.

The City of Alameda holds post-collision site visits for all major and fatal collisions. In the coming weeks, staff from APD, Public Works, and Transportation Planning will conduct a review of the collision site and findings from the investigation to discuss any potential safety interventions.
