Alameda Wolverines Take Fifth Win!

Alameda Junior Midget Wolverines are having a winning season. Great runs and great defense has this team's season record at 5-0.

Wearing pink socks for Breast Cancer Awareness month only made the team’s win stand out brighter. Last Sunday afternoon the Junior Midget Alameda Wolverines continued their undefeated season with an away-win, played at Del Mar High School in San Jose. This was their second shut-out game in two weeks with a final score of 20-0 Wolverines; bringing the Pop Warner team’s season record to 5-0.

The Wolverines defense played practically-perfect-football, allowing the Campbell Bears just two first downs and no gains over eight yards. Defensive standouts were Kyle Arndt and Caleb Kendricks, both had multiple tackles for losses; while Robert Steffani and Mel Davis harassed the quarterback all day.

Wolverine’s offensive team was just as mighty. Jaylen “Fresh” Ison ran long and strong throughout the game. He had a twenty-three yard rush in the first quarter, followed by another ten. Teddy Oliver continued the forward movement with a 25 yard run into the end zone, where he had the fans standing and the score board up with six. Third quarter, Jaylen “Fresh” Ison had the sidelines cheering once again as he returned a punt for 42 yards, adding six more points to the Wolverines game, followed by another touchdown in the fourth quarter. Finally, Auggie Tautalatasi added two points with a successful PAT, bringing Alameda’s final score to 20-0 Wolverines.
