Wilma Chan to present the Human Impact Budget and "All In-Alameda County/The New War on Poverty to the Kiwanis

Join us on February 11 at the Elks Lodge, 2255 Santa Clara Avenue. Kiwanis meet at noon with optional lunch. Guests are welcome. For more information visit www.alamedakiwanis.org. The Human Impact Budget explores the effects of poverty and the overall impact budget cuts have on Alameda County residents. The project shares the stories of people affected by cuts; provides facts regarding these trends, and empowers people to stand up for the social safety net. “All In – Alameda County” is a multi-year effort that calls upon the entire community to help remove the barriers that prevent individuals and families from achieving financial self-sufficiency. The initiative addresses the areas of jobs, income equality, food, housing, education, wellness, transportation and child care. Supervisor Chan recently announced the launch of the “All In to End Hunger 2020” campaign as part of “All In – Alameda County.” The campaign aims to eliminate food insecurity in Alameda County by focusing on food system inefficiencies, public policy reforms, economic development, and community involvement.
