• Nature Awakens for Spring on Alameda Point Airfield (alamedapost.com) — Wetlands and grasslands at Alameda Point airfield are bursting with spring wildflowers and wildlife after April’s heavy rains and warm temperatures. A Navy-created seasonal wetland is finally thriving, another drainage wetland is full of birds and crickets, and the area is slated to become a regional park, with a new photo gallery capturing the transformation.    

• Council Curbs Park Station Outdoor Music, Approves West End Bike Share Pilot (alamedapost.com) — Alameda City Council just tightened Park Station’s outdoor music permit to meet the city’s noise rules while keeping performances possible, and approved a West End Bay Wheels bike-share pilot ahead of Posey Tube lane closures. Council also hired Gerry Beaudin as the new city manager and okayed temporary electric-vehicle storage at Encinal Terminals, bringing new revenue to the city.
