ALAMEDA, CA — Fire crews extinguished a heavy blaze at an abandoned multi-story building in Alameda early Thursday morning.
Authorities did not say if anyone was injured in the fire. KRON4 reported that authorities were searching for a homeless person known to stay in the building.
Two other people were arrested by police for trespassing after the fire was put out, according to KRON4.
It's unclear how the fire in the 2300 block of Rainbow Court started. Videos shared on social media by the Alameda Fire Department show heavy smoke emanating from the building, which appears completely consumed by flames.
The extent of the damage to the building is unknown.
