- Businesses — Minimize the amount of money held in the cash register by installing secured drop boxes for money storage.
- Motorists — Smash-and-grabs are usually a crime of opportunity. Avoid leaving your purse, wallet, or backpack on the vehicle’s seats, even if the car is occupied. Placing personal items in the trunk or on the floor of your vehicle limits a smash-and-grab thief’s accessibility.
- Pedestrians and cyclists — Robbers often look for “vulnerable targets,” walk or roll with confidence, limit traveling alone, maintain awareness of your surroundings, and limit valuables.
If you see a crime in progress or are the victim of a robbery that just occurred, call 911.
