Awhile ago my Dad introduced me to Star Trek. Right away I loved it. The only problem was that the special effects are terrible, and after awhile it gets kind of predictable. But that's not a big problem.
What I quickly discovered was that most people had heard of Star Trek, but had almost no clue what the original series was like. One of my friends who had seen a Star Trek movie said something about "the doctor" always injecting Kirk with random medicines. I assume he was referring to McCoy, but that does not sound like the doctor I know.
Later at a party some little kids were watching animated Star Trek. I haven't been watching the show very long, but I don't think its the kind of show that should ever be animated. Spock is a very well-known character in our class, but I bet more than half of the class can't tell me that he is Vulcan.

I guess I wish that people actually knew about Star Trek, because really, it's a great show.
