Several years ago, my family watched the CBS show Survivor. But the last few years we phased out. The show became less interesting as my sister and I got older and they started bringing back old players — that was a nice twist for one season, but not year after year.
But last season, Survivor South Pacific, they brought back only two players, Ozzy and Coach, a hero and a villian. We didn't watch the any episodes except the last in realtime. We caught up on the internet just in time for the finale.

But this season, for the first time since who knows when, there were no returning players. We decided to watch. The show premiered last Wednesday night, and we all watched again.
This season we plan to watch all of the episodes. I am hopeful that next season there will once again be no returning characters — hopeful, not optimistic.
