ACLC's Rock Out For The Move: Live Music For the Whole Family This Saturday

Live music for the whole family this Saturday May 11! Featuring the Alameda Battle of the Band winners - The Bob Claire Orchestra. Join us for live soul, Motown, R&B and rock music.

As the days grow longer the weekends are getting better for outdoor family activities.  This weekend the Alameda Community Learning Center (ACLC) Fundraising Club will host an evening of live music and dancing from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., on Saturday, May 11.  

The event is called Rock Out For The Move, and will be held at ACLC’s current location at 210 Central in Alameda.  Rock Out For the Move is open to all ages in the community, so the whole family is invited to attend.

The Bob Claire Orchestra is headlining the event.  The Bob Claire Orchestra won the 2012 Alameda Battle of the Bands and is known for their danceable performances of soul, Motown, rhythm & blues and rock music.

Tickets are $7 for adults and $3 for students 18 years of age and under, and are available at the door or in advance online through Brown Paper Tickets.  A raffle of prizes donated by local businesses and community members will also be held.  Prizes from local business so far include Dan's Fresh Produce, JP Seafood, Tucker's Ice Cream, Subpar Minigolf, Toy Safari and more to come!

The ACLC Fundraising Club is a learner led organization dedicated to raising money for the school through programs such as this event and movie nights for learners on campus. 

The ACLC is a combined Middle School and High School program encompassing Grades 6-12 is consistently ranked among Alameda's best middle schools and high schools, offering a creative, rigorous college prep program.
