Alameda County Offers Free In-Home Lead Consultations
If you have an older home, Alameda County offers free services to help make your home healthier and lead-safe.

The Alameda County Lead Poisoning Prevention Program offers free in-home consultations to owners of residential properties built before 1978 in Alameda, Berkeley, Emeryville and Oakland. This free service is especially useful if you have a young child living or visiting your home, or you are planning a painting or renovation project. Most of our beautiful old homes in Alameda have lead-based paint under the surface layers. This can cause dangerous exposures to lead dust when the paint deteriorates or is disturbed during renovation projects.
There are ways to safely manage lead-based paint! The Alameda County Lead Poisoning Prevention Program can help. Call the public information line at 510-567-8280 or visit http://www.aclppp.org/programs/propsvc.htm
