I want to start, up front, by telling you that there is a lot I don't know about Alameda, city hall, politics and process. But, I think it is important for me to find out. So last week, when I saw a notice for a workshop focusing on public participation, I was actually excited to go.

I went with my sketchbook and my markers, and took notes trying to translate what I was hearing, jargon and all, into a language I can understand. Icons, images, maps; I use visuals. Here are the results from that meeting, and the start of a rambling trip through Alameda government. I hope you all enjoy the ride.
