San Francisco Bay's Amazing Watershed

San Francisco Bay is the largest estuary on the West Coast of North America! Discover how far north and east our Bay reaches with its network of waterways from the Pacific Coast in this blog.

How far do you think our Bay's watershed extends?  Many would answer that it extends to the Oakland-East Bay Hills or Mount Diablo.  It actually extends far beyond that to the eastern boundaries of our state and almost to the Oregon border!  See more and take a virtual tour of the Sacramento and San Joaquin rivers at my new blog for KQED QUEST: http://science.kqed.org/quest/2012/08/31/waterways-of-the-largest-estuary-on-the-west-coast/

Hope to see some of you at our annual Coastal Cleanup day on Sept. 15!  For more information and to sign up see: http://www.ebparks.org/features/California_Coastal_Cleanup_2012
