So Who Wants a Ride on the New Fire Boat?
Police vs. Fire basketball fundraiser for Alameda Family Services will be a fun-filled family evening with guest sportscasters, free throw contest, door prizes and a raffle.
A opportunity to win a ride on the not-yet-delivered Fire Department boat is one extra attraction at Friday, May 3, "Shoots & Ladders" basketball fundraiser between Alameda Police Dept. and Alameda Fire Dept. Your ticket will earn you one entry for the raffle prizes, which also include a mountain bike and special Police Department goodies.
The event benefits Alameda Family Services. Special guest sportscaster Steve Bitker (KCBS) will emcee this exciting contest to see who gets bragging rights for the next year. In addition to the main event, there will be a pre-game free throw contest, door prizes, and raffle.
Come to the Oak Street entrance to the Alameda High Gymnasium for a fun-filled family event. Doors open at 6:00 pm, game starts at 7:00 pm.

Ticket prices:
- General Admission - $15
- Students (with ID) - $10
- Children (ages 6-12) - $5
- Children (under 6) - free
All proceeds go to support programs of Alameda Family Services, which helps individuals and families through counseling, Head Start, Early Head Start. School-Based Health Centers, Homeless Youth Services, and other programs. AFS is a 501(c)(3) organization, funded through grants, contracts and private donations. Donations may be tax deductible.
