
I am always conflicted about Fall. Daylight Savings looms on the horizon threatening to steal post-work daylight hours and bring babies who wake up at 5:00AM. And yet...fall in the East Bay ushers in what could possibly be the best weather in the world.
Mornings are cool and foggy, hiding the entire city of San Francisco like Brigadoon. Lunchtime is bright and crisp, beckoning lunches eaten in the park amongst the few fallen leaves. Afternoons are warm and pleasant and bring with them amazing sunsets.
And then I remember, this is one of the reasons it is so damn expensive to live here.

While the rest of the country is still sweltering waiting for cooler temperatures to finally arrive, or readying for the impending snap by putting up storm windows, (or both, as I experienced in Texas) we have another beautiful day, again. Oh, its raining? Don't worry, tomorrow will be gorgeous and the monarchs will be back out, and we can go to the beach.
Whenever friends from out of state ask when they should visit, I always tell them October (and not just because its my birthday month) because the weather is perfect. Then I remind them they'll be sleeping on the couch because when you live somewhere as amazing as this guest bedrooms are few and far between.
