Although currently a New Yorker, guitarist <a href="https://willbernard.com/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Will Bernard</a>'s unique voice was formed for the most part from the rich cultural roots of the San Francisco Bay Area. Along the way he studied classical music, jazz, played in basements and coliseums, and absorbed the Bay Area Multi-Kultii, the New York downtown edge, and the loose funk of New Orleans. He has performed or recorded with Charlie Hunter, Stanton Moore, Robert Walter, John Medeski, Dr Lonnie Smith, Ben Sidran, Peter Apfelbaum, Jai Uttal, Tom Waits, Bill Laswell, Dr. John and a lot of other known and unknowns. Will can be seen working in a chameleon-like way to fit into his current habitat. His 2007 CD, "Party Hats," as well as his 1997 collaborative project, T.J. Kirk's If Four Was One, were both nominated for Grammys, and he is nominated yearly in Downbeat Magazine's Critics Poll for "Best Rising Star" Guitar Player. Will is a regular fixture at New Orleans Jazz fest, Jam Cruise and other similar events, and has toured extensively in the US and Europe. Currently, Will performs with John Medeski's Mad Skillet, Peter Apfelbaum's Sparkler, Frequinox with Stanton Moore and Robert Walter, Club D’Elf, Brian Charette's Mighty Grinders, Club Foot Orchestra, TJ Kirk spinoff Damn Skippy and the Will Bernard ’s Freelance Subversives and Pond Life. Will’s 11th record as a leader was released in 2022 on Dreck to Disk records and was on many best of 2022 lists. In 2023, Will released a duo record with SF clarinetist Beth Custer.
<a href="https://www.raffigarabedianmusic.com/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Raffi Garabedian</a> was born and raised in Berkeley, California, and attended the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music, from which he received a BFA in Jazz Performance. He has toured extensively—both at the helm of his own projects, and as a member of other groups—and has played and recorded with luminaries such as Jorge Rossy, Ben Street, Dayna Stephens, and Johnny Talbot. Garabedian also plays in several projects in and around the Bay Area, including Insect Life—a group focusing on collective improvisation, with Ben Goldberg (clarinet), Danny Lubin-Laden (trombone), Ben Davis (cello), and Gerald Cleaver (drums)—and Sticklerphonics, again with Lubin-Laden, and Scott Amendola (drums).
In addition to his music practice, Garabedian is a seasoned educator, and is on the jazz saxophone faculty at Sonoma State University, while teaching at Berkeley High School. He has taught regularly at the California Jazz Conservatory, the Stanford Jazz Workshop, and works with private students.
Born in Oakland, CA and growing up in Salt Lake City, <a href="https://www.sfcm.edu/study/faculty/sam-bevan" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Sam Bevan</a> had classical piano lessons from the age of four, sang and played piano professionally and earned a BA in French before dedicating himself to bass, arranging and composing. Greatly in demand after moving back to Northern California in 1999, Bevan’s versatility and creativity while performing jazz, funk, folk and Afro-Cuban music kept him constantly busy with stimulating projects. He has since repeated his success since moving to New York in 2016. He has three CDs as a leader with Emergence being the most recent to date.
Throughout his professional life, Sam has had the opportunity to work with a wide range of artists including: David Grisman, Zigaboo Modeliste, Joshua Redman, Roswell Rudd, Houston Person, Stacey Kent, Kenny Washington, New York Voices, Joe Locke, Michael Wolff, Monk's Music Trio, Jim Kweskin, Geoff Muldaur, Meklit Hadero, Jesus Diaz &amp; QBA, Fito Reinoso, Louie Romero, Karl Perazzo, The VNote Ensemble, Marco Granados, Bjorkestra, Mamadou Sidibe, Matt Flinner, the New Pickle Family Circus and the Contemporary Jazz Orchestra.
A native of the Bay Area, <a href="https://www.deszon.com/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Deszon Claiborne</a> began his musical career at the early age of ten. Virtually self taught in the beginning, he went on to study with world-renowned drummers such as Richard Peterson, Rick Quintinel (Chuck Brown school of Drumming), James Levi, Billy Cobham and Kenneth Nash , an experience which provided him with a strong foundation in jazz, rhythm &amp; blues and world music. He has had the pleasure to perform or record with the following artists: Peter Apfelbaum, Don Cherry, Charles brown, Angela Bofill, Les McCann, Dr. Lonnie Smith, Robin Ford, Boz Scaggs, Greg Howe, Henry Butler, Giovani Hildalgo, Kai Eckhardt, John Handy, Taj Mahal, Donald Harrison, Rodney Franklin, and may others.

Join the California Historical Radio Society for a special afternoon with Bay Area radio personality and author Don Sainte-Johnn as he shares stories, memories, and behind-the-scenes insights from the world of legendary Bay Area broadcasting.
Drawing from his experiences in radio and his recently published book, Don will explore the history and culture of stations like KFRC and the personalities who helped shape the sound of radio in the Bay Area. The presentation will feature a slideshow of historic photographs, memorabilia, and radio artifacts that bring this remarkable era of broadcasting to life.
The afternoon will begin with a casual meet-and-greet with light refreshments, followed by Don’s presentation and an audience Q&amp;A session. Copies of Don’s book will also be available for purchase and signing following the talk.&nbsp;<h4>Author Bio</h4>
Don Sainte-Johnn is a former KFRC air personality and veteran of the Top 40 radio era whose career spans major markets including San Francisco, Sacramento, San Diego, St. Louis, Modesto, and Yuma. He spent 13 years with iHeart Sacramento in broadcast roles across the region.
Best known for his time at KFRC during its hit-making heyday, he was part of a generation of broadcasters who helped define personality-driven radio and shape the sound of an era.
He is the author of&nbsp;San Francisco’s Last Top 40 Disc Jockey, a memoir that blends behind-the-scenes radio stories, cultural history, and personal reflection from inside one of America’s most iconic formats.
Today, he speaks, teaches, writes, and consults on broadcasting, media, and storytelling. He is a member of the Bay Area Radio Hall of Fame.

<a href="https://linktr.ee/dantonellimusic" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Dominick Antonelli</a> is on his first national tour! His music is a mix of acoustic fingerstyle instrumentals, heartfelt lyrics and stories from the road and song inception. He utilizes alternate tunings which allows for a wide, spacious sound layered with tasteful melodies. Often, people have shared that it sounds like two guitars are playing at once.
He has received feedback that his music sounds organic in the sense of flowing smoothly together in intuitive ways, not necessarily intellectually/theoretically created. There have been many times where listeners have an inner experience of being moved to tears, gratitude, and remembering a piece of themselves that may have been forgotten. Often, listeners and himself experience a sense of hope and wonder during the performance. He has influences from many different genres of music from bluegrass, Lo-Fi, varying degrees of rock from heavy metal, to psychedelia, classic/mainstream, alternative, folk, hip hop, Celtic, meditation music, Indian ragas, and more! He feels as though he distills all the influences in his life (sound and other) and brings them into his writing.
He is currently studying music and recording arts, with hopes of bridging the acoustic and electronic worlds with textured soundscapes for upliftment and cellular healing - more to come! He has a background in Integrative Health and has offered workshops that incorporate guided meditation, group energy healing, group ear acupuncture (Acudetox/Acuwellness/NADA), movement, journaling, and live instrumental acoustic guitar. He has performed at gatherings on the East Coast in Ohio, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and North Carolina, as well as in Thailand and Costa Rica.
Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door general admission; $15 for students/low-income individuals. Children under 12 are free. Advance tickets are available here, or if the show is not sold out, you may purchase your tickets at the door before the show.
Doors open 30 minutes before show time. We accept cash or Venmo only at the door.

Longtime musical associates Peter Apfelbaum (piano, saxophone, flutes, percussion) and Paul Hanson (bassoon, woodwinds) appear in Duo for the first time at the piano store. Having met as students in the pioneering Berkeley public schools Jazz Program in the 1970's, the two began a lifelong musical association as members of Apfelbaum's Hieroglyphics Ensemble in 1977. In their largely improvised performances, the Apfelbaum/Hanson Duo combines Apfelbaum's expansive, polyrhythmic approach to the piano - blending elements of jazz, gospel, avant-garde and world music - with Hanson's singular, virtuosic, electronics-enhanced bassoon melodies which evoke the haunting beauty of Balkan music. Soma is a Greek word that means "living body in its wholeness." Somatic Yoga is a movement practice that focuses on feeling our living body from the inside. We do this by bringing our awareness to our breath and sensations as we move slowly through different poses, notice our shifting of weight, and bring our curiosity to the shapes we embody. Class will begin with breath awareness and slow, fluid movements to bring us into deeper contact with our sense of Self.&nbsp;
 The exercises will be intrinsically strengthening, like how a baby develops muscular tone gently over time. The class will include seated poses and a standing asana slow-flow practice in which we will bring our inner awareness and breath to each pose and transition.
 Class will end with a return to the floor, noticing the changes in how we are making contact with ourselves and our environment. Somatic Yoga will be a movement journey that guides you to experience the Fullness of You.

The slow pace and passive approach help to cultivate awareness of the present moment, making it a grounding and introspective experience.
Expect a sequence of soothing poses, including hip openers, gentle twists, and other restorative postures designed to release tension and enhance mobility. These poses are not meant to stretch the body to its limits but rather to open it up gradually, both physically and mentally. As the body relaxes and opens, so too does the mind, creating a sense of spaciousness and ease.

At its San Francisco studios, Personal Training and Partner Training memberships include unlimited DEXA body-composition scans and VO2 max testing — diagnostics usually sold one scan at a time or reserved for specialized clinics. Custom Fit members can test as often as they train. The reasoning is straightforward. A DEXA scan measures fat, lean muscle, and bone density with clinical precision. A VO2 max test measures the body's maximum oxygen uptake, one of the strongest predictors of cardiovascular fitness and long-term health. Run those tests on a regular cadence and a member can see exactly what is changing, where, and whether a program is working — rather than relying on the scale or the mirror. That is the idea behind Custom Fit's positioning: not a gym, a performance lab. Every program is built from a member's measured body composition and cardiovascular capacity, then adjusted as the data moves. The goal is to eliminate the guesswork that defines most fitness routines and to treat training as something you can verify. The model also brings longevity diagnostics that usually live in concierge medicine into a routine training week. Body composition and cardiovascular capacity are central markers of how well a person is aging, and regular testing keeps those numbers visible rather than treating them as an occasional, expensive add-on.
