The Carquinez Model Railroad Society is June 27 and 28. We will be celebrating the semiquincentennial of the Declaration of Independence and the birth of the United States of America. Railroads have been part of the history and expansion of the United States since the 1840’s and have participated in celebrations at the country’s centennial (1876) and bicentennial (1976) by hosting special events and painting equipment in special schemes to honor our country. Our members will be presenting a variety of models of locomotives and trains that have connections to the bicentennial or semiquincentennial. Come share a little red, white, and blue star-spangled celebration of our country’s history and future.
