California Universities Dominate Forbes List of Value Schools

Want to make sure your tuition money is being well spent? The Forbes Best Value Schools 2016 list has just been released.

If you’re looking for great value for your higher education dollar, Forbes says to look no further than right here in California.

The Forbes Best Value Schools 2016 list was released this week and four of the Top 10 schools are located in California, include UC Berkeley at No. 1.

Forbes praised Berkeley for “its strong undergraduate programs and a serious hipster streak. Some of the most popular majors are social sciences, biological and biomedical sciences, engineering and literature. Seven current Berkeley faculty members have won Nobel Prizes and 77 are Fulbright Scholars.” Forbes also noted that Apple cofounder Steve Wozniak and Google CEO Eric Schmidt are alums.

UCLA wasn’t far behind, at No. 4. Forbes notes, “The university has educated and staffed seven Nobel laureates, 12 Rhodes Scholars, 12 MacArthur Fellows, 10 National Medal of Science winners, three Pulitzer Prize winners and numerous Academy Award, Emmy, Golden Globe and Tony recipients.” UCLA was also praised for its depth, offering 128 majors and more than 5,000 courses.
