Data Show 82.6% Of Those Eligible In Alameda Co. Are Registered Voters
In Alameda County, 82.6% of those eligible to vote are registered voters.
ALAMEDA, CA — The latest statewide registered voter figures have been released and the percentage of Alameda County's registered voters is slightly higher than the statewide number, the data show.
Secretary of State Shirley N. Weber released the latest report of registration which reflects data as of Feb. 10.
Statewide, a total of 21,980,768 Californians are registered to vote, which is 82.27 percent of eligible Californians, compared to 79.09 percent at the same point after a regular gubernatorial election four years ago.

In Alameda County 1,128,436 people are eligible to register to vote with 929,413 or 82.6 percent actually being registered.
Of those registered in Alameda County, 561,195 or 60.38 percent are registered as Democrats, 100,836 or 10.85 percent are Republicans and 21,960 or 2.36 percent are Independent. Nearly a quarter of a million of those eligible, 222,435 or 24.04 percent, are registered with no party affiliation and 4,298 are registered as either Libertarian, Peace and Freedom or Green. 5,684 or .61 percent are registered as "other" while the remaining 44 people have an unknown party preference.

The report of registration is a compilation of voter registration numbers reported by California's 58 county elections offices.
