Encinal High Students Set Women's Rally For Lunchtime on Thursday

Two groups are the organizers and hope to draw locals and leaders in support of women's rights. The event will be near the campus "jet."

ALAMEDA, CA – As a follow-up to today's International Women's Day, two student groups at Encinal High School in Alameda are planning a Women's Rally on Thursday at 12:20 p.m.

The school's Student Justice Center and Leadership programs are co-hosting the event which will be in front of the campus near the "jet."

"We will be having several student speakers from various clubs in the school, stations set up with activities such as prompts to write about and T-shirt printing," said student organizer Anisya Lustig-Ellison of the Student Justice Center. "Our main event will be a declaration for women’s rights that students and teachers can sign that we will send to local and national government."
