Art Exhibit: Ann Ross Photography and Thelma Richards Paintings

Thelma Richards - Paintings

Local artist Thelma Richard will exhibit her paintings at the Alameda Free Library, from Sunday July 31 through Saturday August 27. The exhibition will be held on the 2nd floor of the library.

Thelma Richard has had a passion for art throughout her life, from early childhood. Her inspiration comes from her feelings of good and evil, love of life, experiences, values and meanings, wisdom and biblical beliefs. Thelma has developed a technique which gives her freedom to express herself in her subjects and chosen colors. Painting on large size canvas provides the venue to express the meaning of her subjects, colors, and message.

An exhibition of photography in the Regina K. Stafford meeting rooms of the Alameda Free Library from Sunday July 31st through Saturday August 27, 2011.

Anne Ross began exhibiting photography in Alameda in 2007 and has since shown her work in many places in San Francisco and the East Bay. She is currently an artist in residence at the Kala Art Institute in Berkeley.

Anne Ross’s initial photographs focused on nature and candid shots of humanity. As her work evolves it grows less representational and becomes more suggestive, multi-layered and abstract.  Anne blends old and new technology, scanning film negatives, cyanotypes and lumen prints to create her work.
