Days of the Dead~Dias de los Muertos
“Tributes of Love, Stories, Songs… a celebration of the Love”
The Library invites you to experience first hand the tradition that honors the love for those who have died. Lisa Lemus, Oakland Museum art docent and member of the Dias de Los Muertos Committee has hosted gatherings in her home for over 15 years and will facilitate a gathering at the Library. Participants will learn how to host a gathering and will experience many aspects of a home celebration for the Days of the Dead.
Participants are invited to bring a picture and flowers, a story or song to share that honors your dear one who has died. Lisa Lemus will also answer any questions about this tradition that is inspired from her Mexican heritage and enriched by the Oakland Museum’s Days of the Dead celebration and exhibits.
