On this night of power, when the veil that separates our world from the Other-world, the boundary between the living and the deceased is at its thinnest; we join together to drum, chant, dance, heal and connect! *Opening Ceremony and Ritual 5:45

Indigenous cultures from around the world have held this evening as a sacred time to honor Ancestors and Saints.  Some traditions include:

Samhain, All Hallows Eve, or Halloween

Is the belief that on this eve we mock evil, because as believers, it has no real power over Us.  In past, poor people in the community begged for "soul cakes," and upon receiving these donuts, they would agree to pray for departed souls.

All Saints day is called All Soul's Day, a day to remember and offer prayers up on behalf of all of the faithful departed. It is the honoring of all saints (Ancestors), known and unknown. On All Saints Day, we celebrate these light workers of the Spirit, and ask for their prayers and intercessions.

The Day of the Dead (El Día de los Muertos in Spanish) the origins of the celebration of The Day of the Dead in Mexico can be traced back to the indigenous peoples of Latin America . The emphasis is to celebrate and honor the lives of the deceased, rather than fearing evil or malevolent spirits.

All are welcome to join our circle (12yrs and up) Bring drums, rattles, didgeridoos, etc. We have a few to borrow, no experience necessary. You are also invited to place Ancestor pictures and mementos on the altar.
