
"Stand Up For Women!" is a Recreational Paddle Board Race benfitting the Midway Shelter of Alameda's women's programs and hosted by Alameda South Shore Center and Boardsports School & Shop. The race takes place at the Boardsports Shack on Crown Beach this Saturday, July 30 at 1 p.m. Donation entry fee is $25 and boards are donated by Boardsports School & Shop.
Participants can be from 4 years of age and up and must know how to swim. All visitors are encouraged to donate and experience the windsurfing and kite boarding demonstrations at the Alameda South Shore Center. Prizes will be given at 5 p.m. at the Alameda South Shore Center stage with a performance by "Fishbear".
Kara's Cupcakes and Mogo's BBQ will be on hand with their gourmet trucks. Peter's Kettle Corn will have their tasty treats and Alameda Education Foundation will be collecting school supplies for the homeless students in Alameda. It is a day for supporting women and their families and we hope to see everyone cheer on the paddle boards, eat, dance, and give to a worthy cause.
