Mother Asking for Donations to Keep Daughter from Going Blind
Natasha Payton, 17, has been diagnosed with Keratoconus, a condition often times caused by eye rubbing that can lead to blindness. Her mother is trying to raise $20,000 to cover the cost of her surgery.

An Alameda mother is raising awareness and asking for the community's support in preventing her daughter from going blind.
Susan Alesna has set up a website to raise money for her 17-year-old daughter Natasha Payton to receive eye surgery called Holcomb C3R, which will be performed by Dr. Brian Boxer Wachler in Beverly Hills.
Payton has been diagnosed with Keratoconus, a condition often times caused by eye rubbing that can lead to blindness.

"It is very important that Natasha receives this eye procedure or she will lose her eye sight and go blind," Alesna wrote.
Alesna is trying to raise $20,000 because the surgery costs are not covered by the family's health insurance. The website fundraiser ends August 1, 2013.

Alesna said donations can be made at the website itself or at any Wells Fargo Bank via Payton's account ending in No. 6521.
