Free Car Seat Safety Inspections Planned In Alameda
The Alameda Police Department is sponsoring the event, to be held in the City Hall Parking Lot on Oak Street.

ALAMEDA, CA — A properly installed child safety seat can greatly reduce injuries or death in a crash. But those car seats can be tricky to install.
The Alameda Police Department is offering free child safety seat inspections and installations on Saturday, April 21, 10 a.m. to noon in the City Hall Parking Lot on Oak Street, between City Hall and the Police Department.
California law requires all children under the age of 8 to be secured in a car seat or booster seat in the back seat. Children who are 8 years of age or have reached 4'9” in height may be secured by a booster seat, but at a minimum must be secured by a safety belt.
