Free E-Waste Disposal and Document Shredding

Event will take place March 24 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Harbor Bay Isle

 

The will host a free document shredding and e-waste recycling event March 24 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the community center's parking lot located at 3195 Mecartney Road. (The lot is situated to the right and behind CVS Pharmacy and adjacent to the .)

Recall Secure Destruction Services will be on site to collect and recycle confidential paper items. One hundred percent of all paper items will be shredded onsite and recycled into paper products.

The following items will be accepted: all company papers, old bills and checks, bound paper, brochures, post-it notes, file folders, paper, photos, letterhead, envelopes, adding machine tape, dated bank statements, and tax information older than 10 years. There will be a limit of three boxes per car.

Electronic Waste Management will be onsite to collect and recycle electronic items. Bring in the following items and keep them out of landfills: power cables, wires, microwaves, televisions, fax machines, monitors, stereo equipment, scrap metal, copy machines, toner cartridges, telephone equipment, video game systems, audio/visual equipment, computers and components, printers, cell phones, VCRs, and DVDs.

Important note: Household appliances, furniture, fluorescent bulbs and paint will not be accepted.

Pre-registration is not required. The event is free and open to the public.
