What would you like to fill the vacancies at Harbor Bay Shopping Center?
This week we’re going to Alameda’s Bay Farm Island and ask for your suggestions to help the Harbor Bay Shopping Center get its mojo back. According to Loopnet, there are nine vacancies.
It's anchored by Safeway and CVS and has several smaller businesses including Anytime Fitness, Angel Fish Japanese Restaurant, Coffee and Tea Traders, and others. Last month China Villa moved in, but there are still nine vacancies.
A couple of years ago there was some controversy over all the vacancies that appears to have been mostly caused by the slow economy and the landlord raising rents.

In this uncertain economy its difficult for someone to take the plunge and start a new business. But we think if the community clearly says what they will spend their money on, it might provide the certainty they need to start a new business.
