Lane Closures On Encinal And Broadway Start Friday
Encinal Avenue is being repaved, among other improvements.
ALAMEDA, CA — Caltrans has scheduled lane closures on Encinal and Broadway Avenues (State Route 61) in the City of Alameda to accommodate work installing a Vehicle Radar Speed Feedback Sign starting June 23, 2023.
The slow lane closures are daytime only and will begin at 7:00 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m. The work is part of a project that will repave Encinal Avenue and upgrade existing curb ramps and install Vehicle Radar Speed Feedback Signs.

Work Locations
The work will take place near the northern edge of 1126 Broadway, and in front of 1173 Broadway, 2509 Encinal Avenue, 2510 Encinal Avenue, 2248 Encinal Avenue, 2057 Encinal Avenue and 2057 Encinal Avenue. Work will also be performed between 1808 Encinal Avenue and 1126 Union Street.
Caltrans will make every effort to minimize inconvenience as the project moves along. Traffic advisories, social media, traffic control measures, and appropriate signage will be utilized. We thank the traveling public for your patience as we work to enhance the Bay Area’s highways, bridges and tunnels.

Unforeseeable circumstances such as weather, materials availability and site developments may cause the schedule to vary.
This schedule is part of an overall paving project that will continue into the end of the year.
Directional signage will be in place to guide motorists.
