Laser Strikes At Oakland Airport Hit 6 Planes
The laser strikes were reported Monday and Tuesday nights. A CHP helicopter was also targeted over Oakland over the weekend.

OAKLAND, CA — Pilots aboard six airplanes landing at Oakland International Airport have reported being struck by lasers on Monday and Tuesday, according to reports. That's in addition to a CHP helicopter being hit bay a laser over Oakland as it flew over an illegal sideshow over the weekend.
All aircraft landed safely.
There have been no arrests.

When lasers shine into the eyes of pilots in the cockpit, it can temporarily blind them, endangering everyone aboard the plane.
The lasers can also cause permanent damage to the eyesight of pilots.

Its is a federal crime to point lasers at cockpits. Those convicted can face 5 years in federal prison in addition to fines.
