A winning lottery ticket worth more than $600,000 was sold in Alameda last month, California Lottery officials announced Saturday. Officials said Chris Northcott purchased the winning ticket at the Maitland Market at 109 Maitland Drive.

The Quick Pick ticket didn’t win the $284 million jackpot, but it did match five of six numbers during the Oct. 31 drawing, winning Northcott $604,409. Officials said Northcott is grateful for the win, but he wanted to remain “low key” as far as his plans for the money.
