Monkey Bars Celebrates Its Fresh New Facade
The children's store at 1339 Park St. will celebrate its "green" facelift with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday at
Monkey Bars, an eco-friendly children's store at 1339 Park St., will celebrate completion of its new facade with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday, Sept. 28, at 5:30 p.m. The public is invited to join owner Heather Rider and Mayor Marie Gilmore for the festivities, which will include free food and beverages.
Acording to City of Alameda officials, Monkey Bars received one of the last façade improvement grants available from the city, via the former Commercial Revitalization Fund.
The new "green" facade is composed of locally sourced, reclaimed wood and recycled aluminum, and illuminated with LED lighting, both indoors and out.
