NASA Engineer Tom Squire to address Kiwanis

How are heat shields developed for spacecraft? What is NASA up to now? Learn this and more at the Kiwanis Club of Alameda.

Tom began working at NASA Ames Research Center in Silicon Valley, CA in 1991. For the past seven years he has served as the Deputy Chief of the Thermal Protection Materials Branch - an organization that develops heat shield materials for spacecraft. Tom will present an overview of some of the current and future NASA missions, and describe the role that Ames Researach Center plays in those missions. The Kiwanis meet at the Elks Lodge, 2255 Santa Clara Avenue in Alameda. The meeting begins at 6:30 PM with cocktails followed by dinner.
