New Chancellor: Peralta Community College District

OAKLAND, CA — Dr. Regina Stanback-Stroud is the new chancellor of the Peralta Community College District, and will begin her duties on Oct. 21, the district announced.

The Peralta Board of Trustees selected Stanback-Stroud, who retired as president of Skyline Community College in San Bruno earlier this year, on Sept. 24 following a nationwide search.

"I'm excited to be home," Stanback-Stroud, a longtime Oakland resident, said in a statement. "We have been celebrating here at my home because we love and are committed to Peralta. I will do my very best to serve my community through PCCD. I could not be more honored."

Stanback-Stroud succeeds acting chancellor Francis White, who has filled the role since March. — Bay City News
